Bearded Dragon Diet & Feeding Guides
A bearded dragon eats two things: live insects and leafy greens. Get the balance right and your dragon stays active, bright, and growing on schedule. Get it wrong and you invite the most common health problem keepers face, metabolic bone disease.
Here's the part most new owners miss. The ratio flips as your dragon ages. Babies and juveniles run on protein. They need insects at roughly 70 to 80 percent of the plate, with greens making up the rest, fed several times a day. Adults reverse it. By the time a dragon hits 18 months, greens become the staple and insects drop back to a few feedings a week. Feeding an adult like a baby is how dragons get fat. Feeding a baby like an adult is how they fail to grow.
